Provincial Nominee Programs Issue Invitations in Ontario, British Columbia, Manitoba, and Saskatchewan

Four provinces in Canada have recently issued provincial nominations to candidates under their Provincial Nominee Programs (PNPs). These nominations are essential steps for many immigration hopefuls seeking permanent residence in Canada.

Each PNP has its own selection criteria and scoring system, making it important for candidates to understand the specific requirements of the province they are applying to. Here's a breakdown of the recent draws from September 6th to 13th, 2024.

British Columbia: Skilled Worker International Graduate Stream

On September 10th, the British Columbia PNP (BCPNP) issued invitations through the Skilled Worker International Graduate stream, targeting candidates with experience in high-demand professions. This draw was also aligned with the Express Entry British Columbia (EEBC) option.

Minimum Scores by Occupation:

  • Childcare workers: Minimum score of 83 (30 invitations)
  • Construction workers: Minimum score of 89 (19 invitations)
  • Healthcare workers: Minimum score of 99 (18 invitations)
  • Tech workers: Minimum score of 117 (84 invitations)
  • Veterinary care workers: Minimum score of 80 (at least one invitation)

British Columbia continues to target professions in demand, ensuring the province meets its workforce needs.

Ontario: Job Offer and Human Capital Priorities Streams

Ontario held multiple draws on September 10th and 12th through the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP).

September 10th – Employment Job Offer Stream:

  • International Students stream: 806 candidates invited with a minimum score of 67 and a job offer in a health or skilled trade occupation.
  • Skilled Trades stream: 15 candidates invited with a minimum score of 67 and a job offer in a skilled trade.
  • In-Demand Skills stream: 647 candidates invited with a minimum score of 34 and a job offer meeting the stream’s requirements.

September 12th – Human Capital Priorities Stream: Ontario invited 1,269 candidates with scores ranging between 414 and 444, targeting healthcare professionals with relevant work experience.

Manitoba: Skilled Worker in Manitoba Stream

On September 12th, Manitoba invited 206 candidates under the Skilled Worker in Manitoba stream. To qualify, candidates needed to be employed as either:

  • Cooks (NOC 63200), or
  • Chefs (NOC 62200)

Additionally, candidates or their spouses must have completed post-secondary education in Manitoba. Of those invited, 21 candidates had valid Express Entry profiles, enhancing their chances for permanent residency.

Saskatchewan: Occupations-In-Demand Stream

Saskatchewan issued 32 invitations on September 12th under the Occupations-In-Demand stream. Candidates needed a minimum score of 88, an Education Credential Assessment (ECA), and employment in one of the 26 targeted National Occupation Classifications (NOCs), including roles such as:

  • Financial and investment analysts
  • Human resources professionals
  • Cybersecurity specialists
  • Software engineers and designers
  • University professors and lecturers
