AMN Immigration is excited to offer our services as student immigration consultants, assisting with student visas and study permits. Canada is a popular choice for international students due to the excellent reputation of our universities and community colleges. Unlike many other countries, Canada's most prestigious educational institutions are publicly funded, ensuring high-quality education. Students attending a "designated learning institution" can work part-time during their studies (up to 20 hours per week) and full-time during school breaks. Our study permit consultants can guide you in selecting schools and programs that qualify for valuable post-graduation work permit.
Most international students come to Canada to obtain a post-graduate work permit (PGWP), and our consultants are well-versed in avoiding the pitfalls that have led to previous PGWP refusals. We have successfully appealed many cases in court. It is common for students to pursue permanent residency and eventually become Canadian citizens after obtaining the PGWP. Canada offers numerous benefits, including higher earning potential, access to free public healthcare, and free primary and secondary education for their children. Additionally, their children can benefit from domestic tuition rates when they grow up and pursue post-secondary education. With Canada's aging population and low birth rate, immigration is crucial for the country's labour force growth. Fortunately, all major political parties in Canada support high levels of immigration, resulting in a favourable environment compared to other Western nations.
Another advantage of studying and immigrating to Canada is that former students can eventually apply to sponsor their parents for permanent residency, subject to annual quotas. While some may need to try for a few years to fall within the quota, this pathway offers family reunification opportunities.
A Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP) allows eligible students to obtain an open work permit, enabling them to gain valuable work experience in Canada.
AMN Immigration consultants are available to guide you through the eligibility criteria, explore your options, and assist you in applying for a permit. We can also provide insights on qualifying for Permanent Residence once you have obtained the PGWP. It is important to note that private colleges and one-year programs typically do not allow for PGWPs, so choosing two or three-year programs that lead to a three-year PGWP is advisable.
Ensuring that your chosen course is logically related to your previous studies and field of work, if applicable, is crucial. It should also be a program not readily available in your home country, offering a unique perspective that justifies studying in Canada. If you have a spouse and children, we can bring them along on open work permits and address any concerns regarding their well-being during your studies.
To support your application, demonstrating satisfactory academic performance, a language proficiency score, and the ability to finance your education (either by yourself or with the support of your parents) are essential. While it is widely known that many students aspire to immigrate to Canada eventually, it is necessary to establish "temporary intent" and provide evidence of strong ties to your home country.
The Student Direct Stream (SDS) offers expedited processing of student visas, with a stated turnaround time of 20 days. This option is available to applicants currently residing in specific countries, including Antigua and Barbuda, Brazil, China, Colombia, Costa Rica, India, Morocco, Pakistan, Peru, Philippines, Senegal, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Trinidad and Tobago, and Vietnam.
A Guaranteed Investment Certificate (GIC) of $10,000 is mandatory as part of the application requirements. This certificate confirms that the funds are available and held by an approved bank exclusively for the student, with access granted upon arrival in Canada. Additionally, you will need to provide a letter of acceptance from a Designated Learning Institution, proof of payment for a full year of tuition for the first year of study, recent transcripts, and a minimum English Language Testing System (IELTS) score of 6 in all four categories (or a French Canadian Language Benchmark of 7 in each category). Completing the medical examination is also a necessary step in the application process.
