October 2024: Current State of the Express Entry Pool

After a busy summer, with numerous Express Entry draws in July and August, September brought a slowdown. Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) held fewer draws during the month, focusing on candidates already in Canada and those with strong French language skills.

September Express Entry Draws Recap

In September, IRCC conducted three Express Entry draws, issuing nearly 6,000 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) for permanent residency:

The last three months saw a consistent focus on draws for PNP, CEC, and French-speaking candidates. This reflects Canada's immigration goals, with IRCC prioritizing those already living in the country and encouraging Francophone immigration outside Quebec.

However, September saw fewer ITAs compared to the summer months:
