Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has
extended another round of invitations through the Express Entry system, this
time targeting candidates in the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP). A total of
646 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) were issued in this draw, with applicants
needing a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 750.
Additionally, eligible candidates must have created their Express Entry
profiles before July 23, 2024, at 5:41 p.m. Coordinated Universal Time (UTC).
This marks the third draw of the month, following earlier
rounds that focused on different applicant groups. On February 4, IRCC invited
455 PNP candidates, while the next day saw 4,000 invitations sent to Canadian
Experience Class (CEC) candidates. Notably, IRCC’s current approach for 2025
has emphasized separate draws for PNP and CEC applicants, returning to larger
CEC selections similar to those seen in 2024.
Although the recent draws have not included category-based
invitations for French-speaking applicants, healthcare professionals, or
tradespeople—groups designated as priority categories for 2025—IRCC has set
ambitious targets. Under the 2025-2027 Immigration Levels Plan, these priority
groups are allocated 41,700 permanent resident landings for the current year.

Is It Worth Entering the Express Entry Pool with a Low CRS Score?
Even with a lower CRS score, creating a profile in the
Express Entry pool is often a smart move. Why? Several reasons:
In short, entering the Express Entry pool, even with a low
CRS score, keeps you in the running. It allows you to benefit from score
fluctuations, take advantage of tie-breaking rules, and work on increasing your
score while you wait, ultimately improving your odds of immigrating to Canada.
