Recent immigration updates from Manitoba and the Northwest Territories highlight important Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) activities for March 2025.

Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) Draw

On March 21, Manitoba invited immigration candidates through two separate streams:

1. Skilled Worker in Manitoba Stream:

  • Manitoba issued 101 Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs).
  • Invited candidates needed a minimum score of 844.
  • Applicants or their spouses must have completed post-secondary education in Manitoba and must submit supporting documents (such as diplomas and transcripts). If unable to provide these documents, candidates must decline the invitation.

2. Skilled Worker Overseas Stream:

  • Manitoba invited 7 candidates through a Strategic Recruitment Initiative.
  • The lowest score needed for this stream was 705.

In total, Manitoba issued 108 Letters of Advice to Apply, with 23 going to candidates who had valid Express Entry profiles.

Northwest Territories Nominee Program (NTNP) Intake Update

The NTNP closed its application intake on March 6, 2025. From the submitted applications:

  • 90 applications were randomly selected and applicants have been notified via email.
  • Remaining applications not initially selected will stay active in the intake queue until December 12, 2025.
  • If any selected application is later denied or withdrawn, NTNP will randomly choose another from the queue.

Note:
The Northwest Territories can nominate a total of 150 candidates for 2025. However, only 90 applications were selected in 2025 because 60 additional applications from 2024 exceeded last year’s allocation and are now included in the 2025 quota.
