Between April 29 and May 8, 2025, Alberta issued 295
Invitations to Apply (ITAs) to immigration candidates through the Alberta
Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP). These draws targeted candidates in
six different streams, with a focus on healthcare, priority sectors, and rural
renewal.

These draws reflect Alberta’s strategic approach to filling
labour shortages and supporting economic growth, especially in healthcare and
rural areas.
Focus on Healthcare and Priority Sectors
Two separate draws focused specifically on healthcare
workers, issuing ITAs through both the Express Entry and non-Express Entry Dedicated
Health Care Pathways. Alberta continues to address gaps in the healthcare
system by prioritizing these occupations.
Additionally, Alberta targeted priority sectors such
as agriculture, aviation, and construction—industries previously
identified as key to the province’s economic needs. Notably, this marked the first
draw of 2025 targeting construction workers.
Rural Renewal Stream Makes a Strong Impact
The Rural Renewal Stream saw one of its highest ITA
counts this year, with 165 invitations issued. This is second only to a
previous 2025 draw under the same stream, which issued 190 invitations.
2025 AAIP Nomination Allocations
Alberta received 4,875 nomination spaces from the
federal government for 2025, a significant drop from its 2024 allocation of
9,750. These spaces are divided across several AAIP streams.
Here’s a summary of AAIP’s current status as of the time of
writing:

Conclusion
Alberta continues to take a proactive, targeted approach to
immigration, focusing on meeting sector-specific labour demands and supporting
smaller communities. With more draws expected this year, potential candidates
are encouraged to explore eligibility and ensure their EOIs are up to date in
the AAIP system.
