On June 12, 2025, Manitoba conducted a new draw under its
Provincial Nominee Program (PNP), inviting skilled foreign workers to apply for
provincial immigration.
The Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) sent out 36
Letters of Advice to Apply through the Skilled Worker Overseas
stream. This draw focused on candidates who had submitted an Expression of
Interest (EOI) and were invited directly by the MPNP under a strategic
recruitment initiative.
Out of the 36 invited candidates, five had valid Express
Entry profile numbers and job seeker validation codes. The lowest-ranked
candidate in this draw had a score of 613.
What is the Strategic Recruitment Initiative?
Manitoba runs strategic recruitment initiatives to help
local employers fill labour shortages by hiring skilled foreign workers.
Employers can participate if they:
To qualify for these initiatives, foreign candidates must
meet specific requirements related to age, education, work experience, and
language skills. They must also meet the eligibility rules of the specific
immigration stream they are invited under.
Manitoba's PNP Allocation in 2025
Like other provinces, Manitoba has experienced a reduction
in its nomination allocation for 2025. The total number of nomination slots
for the year is 4,750, which is significantly lower than previous years.
Earlier this year, Newfoundland and Labrador managed
to increase its allocation by negotiating with the federal government. Manitoba
and other provinces may also look to do the same to meet growing labour market
demands.
