PEI continues to focus its immigration strategy on addressing the province’s labour shortages and supporting economic growth. The June 19 draw targeted individuals with experience in high-demand sectors such as:

  • Healthcare
  • Skilled Trades
  • Manufacturing

So far in 2025, the PEI PNP has issued a total of 621 Invitations to Apply (ITAs).

How to Apply for PEI Provincial Nomination

To be considered for PEI PNP, interested candidates must first submit an Expression of Interest (EOI). This signals their interest in being nominated through one of the province’s immigration streams.

Once submitted, EOIs are evaluated based on several key factors, including:

  • Language ability in English or French
  • Level and field of education, and where it was completed
  • Work experience and skills
  • PEI’s current labour market priorities
  • Employment-related factors such as a job offer from a PEI employer or previous Canadian work experience

EOI profiles are ranked, and the top candidates receive invitations to apply for provincial nomination.

PEI’s Business Impact Category – Work Permit Stream

In this draw, PEI issued one ITA through the Business Impact Category – Work Permit Stream. This stream is intended for foreign entrepreneurs who wish to invest in and manage a business in PEI.

To qualify, applicants must:

  • Have a net worth of at least $600,000
  • Meet language requirements (minimum CLB 4)
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Have experience in business ownership or senior management
  • Plan to live and run the business in PEI
  • Be between the ages of 21 and 59 at the time of application

Candidates must initially operate their business in PEI for at least one year on a work permit before becoming eligible for permanent residence.

This stream uses a points-based system with a maximum score of 210 points.

Conclusion

With its latest draw, PEI continues to prioritize skilled workers and entrepreneurs who can support the province’s labour needs and economic growth. Candidates interested in PEI PNP are encouraged to submit their Expression of Interest and ensure they meet the eligibility criteria of their chosen stream.
