British Columbia Invites Entrepreneurs in Latest Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) Draw

British Columbia continues to attract global business talent through its Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP). In its most recent draw, the province issued Invitations to Apply (ITAs) to qualified entrepreneurs interested in starting or managing a business in British Columbia.

Details of the Latest BC PNP Entrepreneur Draw

On July 8, 2025, the BC PNP held its fifth entrepreneur-focused draw of the year, issuing up to 17 invitations across two key immigration streams:

These draws are part of British Columbia’s ongoing efforts in 2025 to focus on attracting experienced business owners and investors. Except for one draw targeting skilled workers in May, the province has directed all draws this year towards entrepreneur candidates.

Total Invitations Issued in 2025

So far in 2025:

  • Up to 39 invitations have been issued through the EI Base stream
  • No more than 20 invitations have been issued through the EI Regional stream
  • No draws have been conducted under the EI Strategic Projects stream, which is designed for corporations relocating essential personnel to the province for strategic investments

Immigration Options for Entrepreneurs in British Columbia

Entrepreneurs looking to immigrate to British Columbia can apply through two main streams:

1. Entrepreneur Immigration (EI) Base Stream

  • Ideal for individuals who want to start a new business or buy and operate an existing business in any part of British Columbia
  • No community referral is required
  • Minimum registration score to be considered: 115 out of 200
  • Applicants must meet specific requirements related to net worth, investment amount, and ownership share
  • Must create at least one full-time job for a Canadian citizen or permanent resident

2. Entrepreneur Immigration (EI) Regional Stream

  • For entrepreneurs interested in starting a new business in one of BC’s rural or smaller communities
  • Applicants must first visit the community and secure a referral from the local municipality before registering
  • Must start a new business (not purchase an existing one)
  • Minimum registration score to be considered: 105 out of 200
  • Must also create at least one full-time job for a Canadian citizen or permanent resident
