The Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP) recently invited hundreds of foreign workers to apply for permanent residency through various immigration streams. These draws targeted professionals from different industries to help fill labour shortages across Alberta.

Alberta’s Latest Immigration Draws: July 3–16, 2025

Between July 3 and July 16, 2025, Alberta held six immigration draws under the AAIP. These included both Express Entry-aligned streams and base streams. The goal was to invite workers who have the right skills and are already contributing to Alberta’s workforce.

Here’s a summary of the draws:

Alberta’s Priority Immigration Pathways

In 2025, Alberta announced that its Express Entry stream would focus more on key sectors through targeted draws. These priority sectors include:

  • Construction
  • Agriculture
  • Aviation
  • Healthcare

The Alberta Express Entry stream also includes three special pathways:

  • Dedicated Healthcare Pathway
  • Accelerated Tech Pathway
  • Law Enforcement Pathway

These streams allow Alberta to meet specific labour market needs while helping skilled foreign workers settle permanently in the province.
