On August 21, 2025, Prince Edward Island (PEI) conducted its eighth Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) draw of the year, issuing new invitations to apply for provincial nomination.

The focus of this draw was on candidates already living and working in PEI, particularly those in high-demand occupations and international student graduates from select post-secondary institutions.

So far this year, PEI has issued 792 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) through its PNP streams.

August 21 Draw Results

In this latest round, 132 invitations were issued under the following pathways:

  • Labour Impact
  • PEI Express Entry

The province prioritized individuals employed in critical sectors such as healthcare, trades, and manufacturing—areas identified earlier in 2025 as essential for PEI’s workforce needs.

Further preference was given to graduates from the following institutions:

  • University of Prince Edward Island (UPEI)
  • Holland College
  • Collège de l’Île

This marks the third draw of the year where international graduates from these institutions received special consideration.

Out of the total 792 ITAs issued in 2025:

  • 791 were through the Labour Impact and PEI Express Entry streams
  • 1 was through the Work Permit Stream

Pathways to Immigrate to PEI

The PEI PNP offers several immigration categories:

  • Labour Impact
    • Skilled Worker Stream
    • Critical Worker Stream
    • International Graduate Stream
  • PEI Express Entry
  • Business Impact
    • Work Permit Stream

Each category has different eligibility requirements. In addition, candidates must meet Canadian admissibility rules and, for Express Entry-linked streams, the federal Express Entry requirements.

How to Be Considered

To be considered for a PEI PNP nomination:

  1. Create an account on PEI’s official immigration website.
  2. Submit an Expression of Interest (EOI).
  3. Profiles stay active in the EOI pool for six months. Only one active profile is allowed at a time.
  4. PEI’s Office of Immigration reviews profiles regularly based on current economic and labour needs.
  5. Selected candidates are invited to apply for a provincial nomination.
  6. Once nominated, applicants can submit their permanent residency application to Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).

For candidates under the PEI Express Entry Stream, it is mandatory to have both:

  • An active federal Express Entry profile
  • An EOI submitted directly to PEI

Why Choose PEI?

Prince Edward Island continues to prioritize candidates who can address labour shortages and contribute to the province’s economic growth. For foreign nationals, this creates an excellent opportunity to build a future in a province that values international talent and student graduates.
