Ontario Invites Over 1,600 Skilled Workers to Apply for Provincial Nomination

Ontario has invited 1,680 candidates to apply for a provincial nomination under the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP). The invitations were issued through the Employer Job Offer streams, including the Regional Economic Development through Immigration (REDI) pilot, which focuses on supporting economic growth in smaller communities.

These targeted draws aimed at candidates working in healthcare, early childhood education, and other skilled occupations essential for regional development.

Highlights of the October 9, 2025 OINP Draw

Ontario conducted two rounds of invitations through its Expression of Interest (EOI) system. The draws targeted occupations that meet current labour shortages and support regional expansion efforts.

Employer Job Offer: Health and Early Childhood Occupations

Ontario issued 1,590 invitations to candidates under the Foreign Worker, International Student, and In-Demand Skills streams. These candidates work in priority healthcare roles or as early childhood educators and assistants (NOC 42202).

Only candidates currently residing in Canada and meeting all eligibility requirements were considered. Employers were required to submit valid job offers through the OINP Employer Portal.

Minimum Scores and Eligible Occupations (NOC 2021):

  • Foreign Worker Stream (38 and above):
    • 31100 – Specialists in clinical and laboratory medicine
    • 31101 – Specialists in surgery
    • 31102 – General practitioners and family physicians
    • 31300 – Nursing coordinators and supervisors
    • 31301 – Registered nurses and registered psychiatric nurses
    • 31302 – Nurse practitioners
    • 31303 – Physician assistants, midwives, and allied health professionals
    • 32101 – Licensed practical nurses
    • 33102 – Nurse aides, orderlies, and patient service associates
    • 42202 – Early childhood educators and assistants
  • International Student Stream (56 and above): Same occupational categories as above
  • In-Demand Skills Stream (31 and above):
    • 44101 – Home support workers, housekeepers, and related occupations

Employer Job Offer: Regional Economic Development through Immigration (REDI)

Ontario also invited 90 candidates under the REDI pilot, designed to help smaller communities attract and retain talent.

This draw targeted candidates from the Foreign Worker, International Student, and In-Demand Skills streams who are currently residing in Canada and working in specific Census Divisions such as Lambton, Lanark, and Leeds and Grenville.

Minimum Scores and Eligible Occupations (NOC 2021):

  • Foreign Worker Stream (51 and above):
    Includes managers, marketing professionals, accountants, administrative staff, engineers, health professionals, tradespeople, and agricultural supervisors.
    Examples:
    • 10022 – Advertising, marketing and public relations managers
    • 11102 – Financial advisors
    • 12200 – Accounting technicians and bookkeepers
    • 13110 – Administrative assistants
    • 22310 – Electrical and electronics engineering technologists and technicians
    • 31301 – Registered nurses and registered psychiatric nurses
    • 42202 – Early childhood educators and assistants
    • 72401 – Heavy-duty equipment mechanics
    • 82030 – Agricultural service contractors and farm supervisors

  • International Student Stream (75 and above):
    Includes senior managers, engineers, IT professionals, and skilled trades.
    Examples:
    • 00014 – Senior managers – trade, broadcasting and other services
    • 11200 – Human resources professionals
    • 21222 – Information systems specialists
    • 21232 – Software developers and programmers
    • 22300 – Civil engineering technologists and technicians
    • 33102 – Nurse aides, orderlies and patient service associates
    • 72410 – Automotive service technicians and mechanics

  • In-Demand Skills Stream (33 and above):
    • 44101 – Home support workers, housekeepers and related occupations
    • 75101 – Material handlers
    • 84120 – Specialized livestock workers and farm machinery operators
    • 94106 – Machining tool operators
    • 94141 – Industrial butchers and meat cutters
