Manitoba PNP Invites Skilled Workers in First Provincial Draw of 2026

The Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) held its first immigration draw of 2026 on January 15, 2025, focusing on candidates under the Skilled Worker Stream. This draw targeted individuals who had been directly invited by the province through specific strategic recruitment initiatives.

Who Was Considered in This Draw?

Candidates were considered if they had clearly stated in their Expression of Interest (EOI) profile that they were invited by Manitoba as part of a strategic recruitment mission. Only those with a valid provincial invitation were eligible.

Draw Results at a Glance

In this draw, Manitoba issued 55 Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs). Invitations were issued through both pathways under the Skilled Worker Stream:

  • Skilled Worker in Manitoba
  • Skilled Worker Overseas

To receive an LAA, candidates needed to confirm in their EOI that they were invited under a provincial strategic recruitment initiative.

Distribution of Invitations by Recruitment Initiative

The highest number of invitations went to candidates invited through Employer Services, which made up about 38% of all LAAs. The full breakdown is as follows:

  • Employer Services: 21 LAAs
  • Francophone Community: 7 LAAs
  • Regional Communities: 15 LAAs
  • Ethnocultural Communities: 9 LAAs
  • Temporary Public Policy to Facilitate Work Permits for Prospective PNP Candidates (TPP): 3 LAAs

Out of the 55 LAAs issued in EOI Draw #262, 10 candidates also had a valid Express Entry profile along with a job seeker validation code.

Comparison With Last Year’s First Draw

For context, Manitoba’s first draw of 2025 (EOI Draw #236, held on January 9, 2025) invited 197 candidates under the Skilled Worker Stream. Compared to that, the first draw of 2026 shows a slower and later start to the year.

Met the Criteria but Didn’t Receive an LAA?

If you believe your EOI met the selection requirements but you did not receive an LAA, the MPNP notes that common reasons may include:

  • You claimed to have taken an approved English or French language test, but did not provide a valid test number, or your test results had expired.
  • You stated that you received an invitation under a strategic recruitment initiative, but the invitation number entered in your EOI was invalid.

Ensuring that all details in your EOI are accurate and up to date is critical to being considered in future MPNP draws.
