If you're planning to study in Canada, the CAEL (Canadian Academic English Language) test is a great way to prove your English language skills. It's specifically designed to measure how well you can use English in an academic setting, making it ideal for students aiming for success at Canadian universities and colleges.

Increased CAEL Scholarship Awards

Prometric, the organization behind CAEL, is excited to announce an increase in the CAEL Scholarships. This year, they are offering a total of $30,000 CAD in awards! The top prize is a $15,000 CAD scholarship, with two additional prizes of $10,000 CAD and $5,000 CAD.

How to Apply

Applying for the CAEL Scholarship is simple and can be done online through your CAEL account. To be eligible, you need to score 60 or higher on the CAEL Test and be accepted to a Canadian university or college. For more details on eligibility and application deadlines, check their website.

About the CAEL Test

The CAEL Test evaluates your ability to use English in a university or college environment. It includes tasks like reading articles, listening to lectures, and answering questions both written and spoken. This test mirrors the kind of work you will encounter in your first year of post-secondary education in Canada.

You can take the CAEL Test at a test centre or online from home. It's recognized by over 180 Canadian universities and colleges and is also accepted by Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) for the Student Direct Stream (SDS), which can fast-track your study permit process.

Test Format

The CAEL Test is completed entirely on a computer and includes four components: speaking, reading, writing, and listening. You don't need to schedule any additional appointments; the entire test is done in one sitting.

Institutions Accepting CAEL

CAEL is accepted by all major Canadian universities and colleges, including top institutions like the University of Toronto, the University of British Columbia, McGill University, McMaster University, and Dalhousie University.
