Ontario and British Columbia Invite Candidates for Provincial Nomination

Ontario and British Columbia recently invited candidates to apply for provincial nomination through their Provincial Nominee Programs (PNP). These programs help provinces select immigrants who can integrate well into the local economy and fill labor market gaps. A provincial nomination significantly strengthens a candidate's application for permanent residency with Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).

Provincial Immigration Results (July 6-12)

Ontario

  • July 9: Ontario issued 1,556 invitations in the Masters Graduate Stream (minimum score 54) and 110 invitations in the PhD Graduate Stream (minimum score 50).
  • July 11: Ontario invited 1,277 candidates in the Express Entry: Skilled Trades Stream (minimum score 408-435).

Provincial nominations add 600 points to an Express Entry candidate's Comprehensive Ranking System score, almost guaranteeing an Invitation to Apply from IRCC.

British Columbia

  • July 9: British Columbia invited over 66 candidates in five draws for Skilled Worker, International Graduate, and Entry-Level and Semi-Skilled streams.

    • General Draw: Minimum score 134 (110 for Entry-Level and Semi-Skilled).
    • Targeted Occupations:
      • Childcare: 10 candidates (minimum score 94)
      • Construction: 9 candidates (minimum score 95)
      • Healthcare: 12 candidates (minimum score 104)
      • Veterinary care: Fewer than five candidates (minimum score 80)

These draws show the ongoing efforts of Ontario and British Columbia to support economic growth through targeted immigration.
